Technology-related purchases must be reviewed and approved by the Technology Department before an order is placed or funds are committed. This applies regardless of the funding source.
New apps, websites, and online services must also be reviewed before use, even if they are free.
What Requires Approval?
Submit a New App, Software, or Hardware Request before:
- Purchasing computers, tablets, monitors, printers, or other technology equipment
- Purchasing accessories, peripherals, audiovisual equipment, or classroom technology
- Purchasing or renewing software, licenses, or online subscriptions
- Beginning a free trial or pilot of a new digital tool
- Using a new app, website, or online service with students
- Creating accounts or providing student or staff information to a new service
If you are unsure whether something requires approval, submit the request before making the purchase.
Why Is Approval Required?
Reviewing requests in advance helps WNESU:
- Protect student and staff information
- Meet data privacy and security requirements
- Confirm compatibility with district systems
- Avoid purchasing tools or equipment that WNESU already provides
- Review licensing, cost, and ongoing support needs
- Ensure technology can be properly configured and supported
Submit a Request
Complete the New App, Software, or Hardware Request form
What Happens Next?
The Technology Department will review the request and may contact you for additional information. When appropriate, we will also coordinate with the Director of Innovation & Instruction, curriculum staff, school administrators, or other district leaders. Requests will generally be reviewed within two weeks.
Submitting the form does not authorize a purchase or use of the product. Please wait for approval before placing an order, starting a subscription, creating accounts, or providing student or staff information.
If you need help with technology that WNESU already owns or provides, submit a regular Technology Support ticket instead.
